Intelligence is not on the internet.
AI has already read the whole internet. What it has not read is what gets said at a negotiating table, in a board meeting, between two people who trust each other. That knowledge cannot be scraped. It can only be given. Offnets is a network for it.
Many brains offline, connected as a network
The human brain has always been offline. No one has ever spoken to it directly: everything passes through a filter that decides what is said, to whom and when. Offnets does not invent a new idea. It copies the architecture that trust has always had.
A method, not a brain
Offnets is the name of the method and the protocol that turn spoken life (conversations, meetings, talks) into organized knowledge: lessons, patterns, decisions, always with the source and with who taught it. No brain rules the others. Each person has their own, and what is shared is the method.
Three kinds of brain
A person's. A company's, made of the brains that make it. A community's. A person can link to companies and communities, and what belongs to one never crosses into another.
Each owner decides
Each brain lives with its owner, outside the internet, and nothing leaves unless the owner releases it, item by item. The exchange can be knowledge, purpose, a cause or money. It is never the sale of what someone knows: what is licensed is the tool, never the contents of a brain.
A network, not a warehouse
There is no central cloud holding every brain. Each one stays at home, and they talk by protocol, with receipts. What we do today person to person, tomorrow each person's AI agents will do among themselves, each with its owner's brain, and only with what the owner released.
By invitation only
No one joins alone. Whoever is already in invites, signs the entry and answers for it. The network grows from trust to trust, the way real knowledge grows.
The knowledge that matters cannot be scraped. It can only be given, and only to those who deserve trust.
What stays, what travels, what touches AI
What leaves, has left. Revoking removes someone from the network, but does not erase what they already received. That is why each release is a decision, not a default.
Off-portal in 2002. Off-net in 2026.
In 2001, Yavox was born on a sailboat and signed itself moving networks: the idea that the network moves with people, and that every mobile phone is an antenna. In 2002, we took services outside the carriers' portals (what was called off-portal), each creator under their own brand, and nothing reached anyone without opt-in. By 2007 that network reached 21 million people in Brazil.
Twenty-four years later, the move is the same, one layer up. AI took the whole internet. The intelligence that matters is still outside it, in people's heads. Offnets are the networks that stay outside: one for each person who knows something, connected to each other, with opt-in again, item by item.
The rules that come before any convenience
AI has already scraped the internet. Most knowledge is not there: it is in people's heads. That knowledge cannot be scraped, only given, and it only reaches those who deserve trust. That is why, in this network, justice is not a brake: it is the mechanism by which knowledge arrives. As with a blood bank, a voluntary, screened and traced donation is worth more than any forced or purchased collection.
The articles hold in layers. A higher layer is never violated to serve a lower one, and no gain in usefulness buys an exception to a right.
The network exists to create wisdom and honor those who teach, not to accumulate data. What it rewards is the lesson that still holds years from now.
Only what the owner accepted gets in. They can leave whenever they want without losing what is already theirs, and no route erases a node's brain.
The words of someone who did not consent (a group member, a meeting participant) teach only the owner's brain. If they leave it, they leave as an anonymous pattern, or not at all.
What was confided is not traded for usefulness. It only leaves under a confidential license, by human decision, to one person at a time, with no right to pass it on.
Every item carries how it was acquired (source and consent) and through which license it passed from hand to hand. No chain, no circulation.
Every node receives the base gift, even before giving anything back. Reciprocity adds; it never takes away the floor. The advantage of those who started first is only justified if it benefits those who arrive last.
Reciprocity is recognition: visible authorship, who taught what. It is never currency, no one buys priority, and the scoreboard shows contribution without ranking people. The commercial license sells the tool and the protocol, never the knowledge of a brain.
On the node, everything is automatic and no one improvises a way to extract, store or exchange. The structure in which brains talk only changes through a new version of the protocol.
Any node may propose a change. The proposal goes through the four-chairs test: "would I accept this if I did not know whether I would be the founder, an old node, a new node or the person quoted?". The decision publishes its reason; a decision without a written reason does not stand.
Every dilemma decided becomes a precedent (facts, decision, reason, article applied). A new case, or one that touches a person's rights, goes to a human. The machine optimizes only within the space the rights leave open.
Continuity is secured by a technical will and by shared keys. As the network grows, its founder stops writing every rule and governs by vetoes that guard the rights.
The Constitution is inspired by Michael Sandel's Justice. The constitution and the protocol are our own. Like the manifesto, it is clay: it changes by version, always dated.
